After a day of discussing ideas to accelerate climate policies in California, join us in taking action by speaking directly to policymakers and their staff!
On April 12, 2023, the day after the California Climate Policy Summit, The Climate Center and our partners are leading a day of advocacy at state legislative offices. This is an opportunity to meet directly with lawmakers and their staff to deliver a clear and compelling message about the bills we want to see California pass this year in order to secure a climate-safe future.
Participants in the California Climate Lobby Day will be divided into groups of three to four (including a group lead) and be assigned four or five meetings with state legislative offices throughout the day, each one lasting approximately 15 minutes to half an hour. We’ll provide you with talking points, bios for the legislators you’ll be meeting with, and handouts to leave behind — all you need to do is register and show up!
This is a full-day event. After a brief “lobbying 101” training, we will walk from the Holiday Inn Downtown-Arena (300 J Street, Sacramento, California, 95814) over to the state capitol at 9 am to begin meetings. There will be a lunch break from 12 – 1 pm followed by afternoon meetings until 4 pm. Lunch will be provided.
California Climate Lobby Day 2023 is full! At this time, we’ve closed registration. Those who have registered should have received both confirmation and instructions via email. Please reach out to info@theclimatecenter.org with any questions.
