Two exciting bills to Make Polluters Pay have made it to the governor’s desk! AB 1866, the Idle Wells Cleanup Act, will accelerate the clean-up of more than 40,000 toxic idle oil wells across the state. AB 3233, the Local Environmental Choice and Safety Act, will protect local communities’ rights to regulate oil and gas operations. Both bills protect communities from dangerous pollution in California, so let’s urge the governor to stand up to Big Oil by signing them today.

Dial (916) 445-2841 to be connected to the governor’s office. Make sure you call between 9am and 5pm PT. Once you’re on the line, say:

“Hi, my name is ____, and I live in ____, California. I am calling in support of AB 1866, the Idle Wells Cleanup Act, and AB 3233, the Local Environmental Choice and Safety Act. AB 1866 and AB 3233 will protect communities from dangerous pollution by making polluters pay to clean up their mess. I urge the governor to build on his legacy as a climate champion by signing AB 1866 and AB 3233 today.”
