SB 680 (Skinner) Electric vehicle sticker prices

Capitol Building in Sacramento

Existing law imposes specified requirements on dealers of motor vehicles sold or leased in this state, including prohibiting a dealer from advertising the total price of a vehicle without including all costs to the purchaser at the time of sale, except as specified.

This bill would require a dealer that sells or leases a vehicle propelled by a battery-powered motor to provide notice to a consumer if the price exceeds the manufacturer’s suggested retail price.

Committee Location: Senate Appropriations Committee; approved in policy committees.
