Shana Lazerow is Legal Co-Director at Communities for a Better Environment (CBE). CBE combines community organizing, research / policy and legal advocacy to empower low-income communities of color around environmental justice, including energy and climate justice. Under her co-direction, CBE’s legal department received the prestigious California Lawyers Association 2025 Trailblazer Award for its innovative and impactful work. Ms. Lazerow has practiced environmental and administrative law for more than 25 years, and has held the position of Chief of Litigation / Legal Director at CBE since 2005. Ms. Lazerow is a 1993 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a 1997 graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.
