Miriam Eide

Coordinating Director, Fossil Free California

Miriam (she/her) is the Coordinating Director at Fossil Free California. She has been a core organizer on the Fossil Fuel Pension Divestment Bill (SB1173) from its inception. She is a member of the national Climate Safe Pension Funds and Stop the Money Pipeline coalitions which are fighting for divestment nationally. In addition, she is a member of the Bay Area Climate Justice Spokescouncil and Sunrise Movement Bay Area where she participates in street actions to support labor organizing and to call for divestment of major banks from fossil fuels. In summer of 2021, Miriam returned to her homestate of Minnesota to join indigenous leaders in fighting to stop the construction of the Line 3 tar sands oil pipeline. In 2020, Miriam won the Hamrie Community Service award for founding a free menstrual cup program on the Macalester College campus where she graduated with degrees in Environmental Studies and International Studies.
