Kurt Johnson is the Director of the Vehicle-Grid Partnership, a new organization advocating for bidirectional utilization of electric vehicles (EVs) to lower electricity bills and keep the lights on. Vehicle-Grid Partnership activities include supporting bidirectional EV owners in utilizing their EVs to lower electricity costs and enhance resilience, as well as organizing a national vehicle-grid integration policy conference taking place in Washington, D.C. on May 12, 2027. Kurt recently served as Community Energy Resilience Director at The Climate Center. Before that, he spent ten years as a renewable energy project developer at Telluride Energy and Recurrent Energy. Kurt also previously worked at the California Public Utilities Commission on the California Solar Initiative and at the US Environmental Protection Agency where he founded the EPA Green Power Partnership. Kurt started his career working as a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., focusing on energy and environmental policy.
