Noam Elroi

Noam Elroi is The Climate Center’s Policy Analyst. In this role, he works closely with the Government Affairs Director to translate research and collaborative policy development into legislative and regulatory action in Sacramento. By keeping his finger on the pulse of international and local climate policy and science, he works to ensure that California remains a leader on the road to a climate-safe future for all.

Prior to joining The Climate Center, Noam was an Associate at Environmental and Energy Consulting, an environmental advocacy and consulting firm in Sacramento. There, he directly advocated and co-lead advocacy coalitions to pass legislative and regulatory solutions to issues in waste, composting, conservation, and climate. Some major accomplishments include passing improvements to California’s Landfill Methane Regulation to make it the strongest in the nation and passing a ban on disposable vapes — a severe fire and safety hazard. Noam also worked in the district office of Senator John Laird, where he began to learn the complex local impacts of environmental policy.

Noam earned a combined degree with department and college honors in Environmental Studies and Economics from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Aside from his career achievements, he has a long history of international competition in Outrigger Canoe (Va’a) and Dragon Boat, having medaled in four world championships and junior world championships between the two sports. He also takes advantage of Sacramento’s perfect launchpad location to backpack, sail, cycle, or climb almost every weekend.
