Woody Hastings, CPC’s Renewable Energy Implementation Manager, introduced the keynote speaker, Bill Gallegos, Executive Director of the statewide group Communities for a Better Environment, to the 150 attendees at the third annual Clean Power Healthy Communities conference on May 10th. Woody is a Steering Committee member of the Oakland based Local Clean Energy Alliance, which produces the conference each year and which is attended by a growing number of renewable energy proponents, governmental agency representatives, elected officials, labor representatives and others mostly from the Bay Area, but also from all corners of the state. Community Choice Aggregation, the governance structure for Sonoma Clean Power, is a prominently featured topic each year. This year, a special panel of experts focused on steps needed to maximize deployment of new local renewable energy within the CCA context. CPC has sent a representative every year since the first conference in 2010.
