My journey in the nonprofit sector began at a young age, driven by a deep desire to support my community — especially those relying heavily on international aid and development, including many USAID-funded projects.

From 2004 to 2015, I had the opportunity to work on a variety of impactful projects in Afghanistan, ranging from clean water initiatives and infrastructure development to agricultural programs and health services. These experiences taught me the importance of transparency, sustainability, and collaboration in creating lasting change.

When I moved to California, I brought that same passion with me. I’ve continued working in the nonprofit space because I believe in making a difference — whether that’s through strong financial stewardship or hands-on community involvement. Joining The Climate Change Center has been an incredible opportunity to align my professional skills with a mission I care deeply about: protecting the environment and creating a sustainable future for everyone.

One of my proudest moments recently was planting a tree as part of our local climate efforts. It may seem like a small act, but to me, it represents growth, hope, and responsibility. I’m excited to continue contributing to this important work alongside a dedicated team that shares the same values.
