Kat Lockwood (she/her) is the Chief Executive Officer of The Climate Center, where she leads the organization’s efforts to advance bold, equitable climate solutions and secure a climate-safe future for all Californians. She brings nearly two decades of experience leading organizations, building grassroots movements, and advancing advocacy campaigns to win policy reforms.
Prior to joining The Climate Center, Kat held national leadership roles at Reproductive Freedom for All (formerly NARAL) as Director of Organizing and Training and Director of Campaign Operations. Before that, she led CALPIRG Students, a statewide youth climate organization. Throughout her career, Kat has worked in partnership with advocates, policymakers, communities, and volunteers to win major victories for 100 percent clean energy, plastic pollution reduction, civic engagement, and reproductive freedom. She was awarded the 2020 American Climate Leadership Award for her work advancing clean energy commitments for the University of California system.
Kat holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in Los Angeles with her wife, where she enjoys getting out on the water sailing or scuba diving, hiking, traveling, and cheering on Angel City Football Club. Follow her on LinkedIn.
