Gabe (he/him/his) joined The Climate Center in October of 2024. He manages the effort to grow resources and support for The Climate Center’s mission by building relationships with foundations and other grantmaking institutions. Gabe has worked in the environmental sector in various capacities for the last decade. He has served in fundraising and grantmaking roles at Rainforest Action Network, Amazon Frontlines, Earthjustice, and, most recently, at the Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment. He has also worked leading backpacking and conservation service trips in Nicaragua and New Hampshire; supported Indigenous-led environmental projects on the ground in the Amazon Rainforest and on Long Island; and studied wildfire risk in Marin County using satellite imagery at NASA. He holds a degree in Hispanic Studies from Dartmouth College and a certificate in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology from Columbia University. Gabe grew up in Los Angeles and currently lives in Oakland.
