Chris Chavez is the Deputy Policy Director at Coalition for Clean Air. Chris joined Coalition for Clean Air in 2017 and works on local and state advocacy, disadvantaged communities and electric vehicle deployment. In addition to legislative and regulatory advocacy, Chris has also worked on successful nonpartisan ballot measure campaigns at both the statewide and local level. Previously, Chris served as legislative staff for State Senator Fran Pavley (ret.) and then-State Senator Alex Padilla. Prior to his time at the Capitol, Chris was a student advocate for California’s public higher education system. Chris has a BA in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach, and is an active member of the Long Beach community.
