Help Reduce Auto Emissions
Weigh in now on Obama administration’s new fuel efficiency standards. This month the Obama administration will begin developing new fuel efficiency and carbon standards for all types of vehicles covering model years 2017-2025. This is an opportunity to transform the auto fleet and push one of the greatest levers for reducing transportation emissions.
Fill out this online form to ask President Obama to set new pollution and fuel economy standards that will achieve at least 60 miles per gallon and emit no more than 143 grams of CO2 per mile by 2025.

Sept. 25 – Biking is encouraged to the free Book Festival where the Bicycle Coalition offers bike valet service. We’re giving a special plug for this event because Melissa Kelley, ringleader for our Oct. 2nd Quarryhill event, is also organizing the Book Festival, a celebration of literature and literacy where you’ll enjoy author readings, panel discussions, Paws for Reading buddy dogs, a Teen Poetry Slam, kids activities such as storytellers and face painting, and nearly 100 exhibitor booths! Oct 10 – As part of 350.org’s Global Work Party Daily Acts, the Post Carbon Institute,

Oct 14th at 7 PM at the Jackson Theater a panel of experts will explore “Factory Farms or Grass-raised Animals?” Dan Imhoff, who has a new book, CAFO: The Tragedy of Industrial Animal Factories will speak about the business and agricultural practices of CAFOs and lead the panel discussion on local alternatives to factory raised meat, eggs, and dairy products.
