Have you noticed that our electricity bills are higher than ever here in California? 

Clean energy solutions like microgrids, rooftop solar, and virtual power plants will make our electricity more reliable and affordable while reducing pollution. But profit-hungry corporate utilities are determined to kill locally-controlled energy solutions like these. It’s time for Governor Newsom and state leaders to stand up for working Californians and stop corporate utilities like PG&E, SoCal Gas, and SDG&E from ripping us off.

Since 2000, California utilities have spent more than $1 billion on political contributions, lobbying, and misinformation tactics to stop communities from taking control of their power. Utility corporations would rather protect their massive profits than ensure that all Californians have reliable and affordable electricity. 

Scientists are telling us that climate-fueled extreme weather will only intensify. Our century-old electrical grid isn’t built to withstand floods, heat waves, and wildfires, but blackouts during an emergency are a matter of life and death. California needs more clean energy at the local level.
