We’re great on time. 10:59:27 From Beverly DesChaux to Everyone: I would prefer to see buses and EVs in general provide V2H/B to avoid demand on the grid and maintain some degree of independence from grid control and possibly provide energy for Community Resilience Centers. 11:03:56 From Beverly DesChaux to Everyone: pG&E is soliciting EV owners to get into that relationship w them. Let us use your battery when we need it and we will give X compensation, certain to decline over time as solar owners who had their compensation slashed 80% and a bill that threatened recently to break 20 yr contracts for providing compensation at all with older NEM contracts 11:06:33 From Alice Sung to Everyone: ^+2! 11:07:11 From Zach Woogen to Everyone: My email in case anyone would like to get in touch: zwoogen@vgicouncil.org 11:07:14 From Samantha Houston to Hosts and panelists: sorry, my internet dropped for a minute there and my phone had no LTE either 11:07:15 From Elena Krieger to Hosts and panelists: Sam, the question is: what are the federal impacts/risks right now? 11:09:00 From Zach Woogen to Hosts and panelists: Sam can you go next? 11:09:05 From Zach Woogen to Hosts and panelists: I need to quiet my dog real quick 11:17:17 From Samantha Houston to Hosts and panelists: I have to leave early now, and I want to acknowledge the question on V2B in the QA as well as Beverly’s related point in the chat on battery energy use on site. In my view this is a both/and situation. In all likelihood the charging location of a school bus will be doing V2B while the site is also connected to the grid (aka grid-parallel). That use case is a great one to pursue and is included in the UCS/EER analysis under the umbrella along with V2G that exports to the grid. 11:17:36 From Samantha Houston to Hosts and panelists: if anyone wishes to continue the conversation, my contact info is shousotn@ucs.org 11:18:27 From Jennifer (She/ella) to Everyone: Amazing!!! 11:19:02 From Alison Hicks to Everyone: How might these concepts be used with community shuttles? I live in a Bay Area city with no school buses, but a free electric community shuttle program. I also know several EV autonomous shuttle pilots in the Bay Area. 11:24:01 From Alison Hicks to Everyone: The community shuttles I know of have regular routes, they are owned by the city and they do not run 24/7. They are domiciled for quite some time. And cities are running more and more of them. 11:28:33 From Bill Lewis to Hosts and panelists: As being part of a school district, our EV's are 1st generation Bluebirds. The large issue with this is that we only get 88 miles to a full charge. If we were to V2G to the local power, we would not be able to run our EV's for our routes. I think the solution for this group would be to focus on for School districts would be Micro Grids. Not to mention, the repeated charging and discharging would deplete our batteries 11:29:49 From The Climate Center to Everyone: Get engaged in these solution and take part in our Call to Action - https://theclimatecenter.org/community-energy-resilience/urge-governor-newsom-to-use-electric-vehicles-for-cheap-reliable-electricity/ 11:30:23 From Jane Israel to The Climate Center(direct message): Thank you all so much!
