UPDATE: On August 11, the California Energy Commission held a workshop to mark the creation of a new $170 million Community Energy Resilience investment program. The program is modeled after the Community Energy Resilience Act (SB 833), which was held in the Assembly Appropriations Committee following the creation of the new CEC program. SB 833 was authored by Senator Bill Dodd (D-Napa) and sponsored by The Climate Center.

The new state program will assist communities in developing energy resilience plans based on clean energy instead of polluting diesel back-up generators. Climate-fueled wildfires and heat waves have been disrupting lives and businesses across California as the state struggles to keep the power on, and this program is part of the solution.

Take a moment to thank Senator Dodd for supporting clean, resilient energy in California communities.
