Celebrating Sonoma County’s Green Solution Successes: June 25, 2015, Party Highlights

What a party! More than 200
friends, partners, and supporters celebrated our collective success at the
party and open house thrown by The Climate Center on June 25,
2015. Our new neighbors across the street, Ygrene Energy Fund, joined in the
celebration and made it a block party, and First Community Bank was the event’s

We toasted California’s
climate leadership, Sonoma Clean Power’s accomplishments, Sonoma County as an
incubator of green solutions, and the collaboration among business, government,
youth, and the greater community that makes this happen.  

Sonoma Land Trust Executive
Director Dave Koehler welcomed The Climate Center to the newly-shared
building. The Climate Center President Jane Bender greeted all
guests and introduced speakers who described all we have to cheer about:

  • Marc Levine,
    California State Assemblymember
  • Mark Landman,
    Chair, Sonoma Clean Power Authority, and Cotati City Council member  (read Mark’s remarks)
  • Brian Reed,
    Executive Vice President & Chief Credit Officer, First Community Bank
  • Ann Hancock,
    Executive Director, The Climate Center (read Ann’s remarks)
  • Stacey Lawson,
    President & CEO of Ygrene Energy Fund (read Stacey’s remarks)

With reasons to celebrate and
reasons to be hopeful, the gathering also served to acknowledge the challenges
we confront that motivate us to work harder and better. Thank you to all the great businesses and our partners
who are showing the world that what’s good for the environment can also be good
